Little Neck - Douglaston Memorial Day Parade Organization

Hon. Philip Ragusa- Patriot of the Year 2015

Dedicated to those who gave their lives in the service of the United States of America

Phil Ragusa served for many years as the pro-bono accountant for the Parade, the United War Veterans and many other community organizations. A native New Yorker, he attended New York City Public schools and graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Phil Ragusa served honorably in the National Guard and the Army Reserve. He was a Certified Public Accountant with a practice in Whitestone specializing in helping individuals, small businesses and not-for-profit organizations. Phil served as the president of the Beechhurst Property Owners' Association and vice president of the Americans of Italian Heritage. He was the treasurer of the Whitestone Revitalization Committee, a member of The Greater Whitestone Taxpayers Association and the Elks (B.P.O.E. Lodge 1). Phil served on the Fort Totten Advisory Committee. Phil served as a delegate to many presidential conventions and was Chairman of the Queens County Republican Committee. It is safe to say that Phil played one of the most important roles in the history of the Little Neck Douglaston Parade. He passed away in June of 2014. May he rest in peace.

Please remember those who gave all in the service of our country in your prayers.
